Have you recently been diagnosed with IBS or you’ve been battling with it for a long time ? Moving slightly away from my love from cooking, today we are speaking a bit about Irritable Bowel Syndrome. IBS is a common condition that affects the digestive system. The exact aetiology is not fully understood and the diagnosis is carried out by excluding other conditions with similar signs. Here I’ve prepared for you the 1st and 2nd line of advice that people with diagnosed IBS are recommended to follow to ease their symptoms including distention, excessive wind, constipation, diarrhoea tiredness, lethargy. Can’t stress enough that if you are of those who are currently experiencing some or all of IBS symptoms but have not been diagnosed yet, you should first speak with your doctor to exclude any other pathological conditions with similar manifestations. and if you are, you can be referred to a registered dietitian by your GP, through self-referral or consult a private registered dietitian who you can find through the BDA website at : https://freelancedietitians.org
